Create your own antiques with this specialty glaze. Apply between a base coat of Valspar paint and a top coat of flat paint to create dramatic weathered lines. The top coat will crack, letting the base coat show through. Contrast your base and top coat colors for more of an exaggerated look.

Use on clean furniture, walls, cabinets and trim.

Preparing the Surface

Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and free of peeling paint. Use a primer on new wallboard.

Application

1. Apply a base coat of Valspar paint according to label instructions. Allow to dry 4 hours or overnight before applying Weathered Crackle. 2. Using a premium quality short nap roller or nylon brush, apply an even coat of Weathered Crackle to the surface. Uneven application will cause unwanted variation in the cracking pattern. A heavier application will yield a larger crackle pattern. Let Crackle Glaze dry 1-4 hours before applying top coat. Waiting longer than 4 hours may require re-application. 3. Using a premium quality roller or brush, apply a flat latex paint in the color of your choice. Do not overwork this coat. One application in a single direction works best.

Dry Time

Room temperatures should be between 55-75°F. Allow to dry thoroughly (approximately 1 hour) before applying a top coat of latex paint.
